How long have you lived in Wichita?

I have lived in Wichita for a year and a half.

What is something you love about this community?

I love that we have a wonderful arts and culture community and many great restaurants.  We have big city opportunities with a small town feel and basically none of the traffic of the big cities, it’s so easy to get around the community.  Finally, I love the warm, friendly people and the ability to plug into what is happening in Wichita.  It is a very welcoming place.

What would you share with someone who is considering moving to Wichita?

I would tell them to absolutely make the move! It is a great city that is becoming even better. The leadership of the city, business executives, and education leaders are all working together to make Wichita one of the top places to live in the United States. Additionally, I would say there is much to do in Wichita and I can see that it is a great place to raise a family.

What would you like to say about Wichita in ten years?

I am excited to see what the future hold for Wichita – based on the growth and leadership commitment to the City, it will be tremendous I am sure.

What transformational projects need to be complete by 2025?

We need to have a vibrant downtown and west river bank. Our convention center needs to be replaced. Our city needs to be better-connected for walking, biking, and shopping — whether that is through city trolly transportation or simply by designing specific oasis areas where people can gather like they do in Old Town. We should have a new ball park and a local baseball or basketball team we can call our own.
