What makes Wichita a great place to live?

I would start with the people. Our community does a really good job of coming together and helping those in need. Our residents are willing to support local businesses which benefits all of us. Wichita is also a safe community and a great place to raise a family. It’s big enough to offer lots of great places to eat and a wide variety of entertainment options and cultural amenities, but small enough to make you feel safe and at home.

What lasting impression do you hope the community will have of Together 2016?

That Together Wichita helped bring us together, created added pride in our city and added some interesting new elements for residents and visitors.

Why did you choose to get involved in Together 2016?

Credit Union of America has been interested in supporting the community for over 80 years. We see Together Wichita as a way to support a larger community project, raise community awareness of how great Wichita truly is and to inspire others to become involved in community support opportunities.

What would you tell a person who is considering moving to Wichita?

I would tell them that Wichita is a great place to raise a family. We have a good education system with nice facilities and three universities, including our WSU Shockers! We also have a lot of family friendly parks, nice golf courses, athletic facilities and a wide range of cultural and entertainment options

How has Wichita changed since you first moved here?

I think the biggest change I have seen is in our education system and facilities. With community supported bond issues, we have been able to build and update school buildings across our local districts. These investments will provide a great educational base for multiple generations.

How long have you lived in Wichita?

42 Years

What is the first thing you would show a visitor to Wichita?

A Shocker Basketball or Baseball Game or the Zoo depending on the season.
