What makes Wichita a great place to live?

Wichita has friendly people, a comfortable cost of living and good amenities for a community of our size. Its a good place to raise a family.

What is the biggest challenge or opportunity for our community in 2016?

Wichita has much to offer companies looking for a great place to do business. We haven’t yet found the right mix to get them here but its imperative we do so.

What would you tell a person who is considering moving to Wichita?

You will find a wonderful quality of life. Wichita gives you the benefits of a big city without the big city problems. If you come from either the west or east coast you will be pleasantly shocked by how much money you will save by living here.

How has Wichita changed since you first moved here?

Wichita has become much more urban. The ease of transportation brought about by the Kellogg freeway and Highway 96 has united the city and diluted the old east/west divide I used to hear so much about.

Who is someone locally that has influenced you?

Wichita has had a wealth of community leaders who have inspired. One of the best is Russ Meyer, CEO Retired of Cessna Aircraft. Classy, smart and diligent he kept pushing his company ahead and developing new products. He never gave up even in the worst of times for the aviation industry and his perseverance resulted in long term success.

How long have you lived in Wichita?

30 years

What is the first thing you would show a visitor to Wichita?

Keeper of the Plains area
